Luke 6:31 And as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them.

What does this verse mean to you? To me it means treat other’s how you want to be treated! If you don’t like feeling left out, don’t purposely leave others out. If you don’t like the way someone talks to you, take note and don’t talk like that to others. We can observe so many helpful things in our everyday lives. If someone makes you feel like crap, remember what is was they did or said that made you feel like that, and try not to make someone else feel like that. It’s so often more easily said than done. People can “talk the talk”, but don’t always “walk the walk.” I sometimes am guilty of this too. We all are sinners, we all fall short or expectations, but if we really make this a priority and put forth true values in our friendships we will gain friendships that last a lifetime! I know for me, if someone doesn’t show much interest in maintaining a friendship then I quickly lose interest in maintaining that friendship.  If they aren’t treating me how I treat them how is that fair? However, it is important to still love them. The Bible tells us to “love our enemies.” Now, this doesn’t always mean straight up enemies, it can also simply mean people we aren’t exactly fond of, or don’t get along with really well. Or even just acquaintances. We are to love EVERYONE.

So, main point of this? Treat others with the kindness and friendliness you like to be treated with, or you just might lose a good friend. ALSO, love everyone, even if it is hard. Be the bigger person and take that step.

“Somehow I can’t believe there are any heights that can’t be scaled by a man who knows the secret of making dreams come true. This special secret, it seems to me, can be summarized in four C’s. They are Curiosity, Confidence, Courage, and Constancy and the greatest of these is Confidence. When you believe a thing, believe it all the way, implicitly and unquestionably.” - Walt Disney
